Financial problems saw the space closed in 1991 and languishing for years until a renovation project in 2004 brought it back to its current glory. Then, it was converted into a live performance space, becoming the home of the Opera Company of Boston. The theater changed hands in 1965, becoming known as the Savoy Theater, and would remain open as a movie house until 1980. It soon changed names to the RKO Keith’s Memorial after the formation of the Radio-Keith-Orpheum company (yes, the same Keith). Keith Memorial Theatre, this venue was originally designed as one of the premier movie houses of its day. Opened in 1928, under the name of the B.F.
